A Quick Way to Import Sony handycam AVCHD MTS to iMovie or FCP X

HELP! My Sony handycam won’t import videos to FCP X! I just used ALL my money I have saved for months to get this camera. It is a Sony handycam DCR-SX65. I am a superb YouTube fan and this SUCKS because I can’t put my videos into iMovie or anything!! How do I do it?!! HELP! Laurence Tancredo asked in a forum.

Have you ever had the same problem that couldn't import Sony handycam to iMovie or FCP X as Laurence did? Have you found the solution yet? If NO, take it easy, I am here to help you. Firstly, we should be aware of one thing that is Sony handycam takes AVCHD MTS videos in 1080p which is hard to edit on FCP X or iMovie because of the format incompatibility.
